Crown Imperial Fritillary by Pierre-Joseph Redouté, 1827
Crown Imperial Fritillary, first published in 1827, is a stunning example of the botanical artistry of Pierre-Joseph Redouté, one of the most acclaimed botanical illustrators of all time. Redouté, Belgian-born, initially gained recognition as a painting tutor for Marie Antoinette before dedicating his talents to capturing the floral beauty of Château de Malmaison. At the behest of Josephine Bonaparte, he created an extensive collection of botanical illustrations, encompassing over 2,100 paintings of more than 1,800 different species.
And now, for the first time in nearly two centuries, you can own a unique, personalized fine art print of Crown Imperial Fritillary.
