Henri Rousseau, often referred to as "Le Douanier" due to his job as a toll collector, strived to paint fantastical worlds far removed from his everyday life. His works were initially misunderstood but later gained recognition and profound appreciation from the art world. "Meadowland (The Pasture)" stands as a testament to Rousseau's ability to transport viewers to a tranquil, untouched world, where harmony reigns among the lush flora and fauna.

The artwork is notable for its spellbinding array of greens and the textural richness of the foliage, offering a symphonic experience.
