Capture a piece of London’s storied past with a personalised old map of the Borough of Lambeth. This unique creation transforms a stretch of the capital’s history into a bespoke artwork, meticulously tailored to your chosen location. Whether you are commemorating a special address, celebrating family history, or finding the perfect gift for a London enthusiast, this map connects you directly with Lambeth’s fascinating evolution across the decades.

Your custom map reveals the historic fabric of Lambeth, including areas such as the site of Lambeth Palace—the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury—and the bustling expanse of Waterloo Station. Trace the banks of the River Thames where the London Eye now stands, or follow Kennington Park, a green space with roots predating the Victorian era. The areas that now feature the famous Oval cricket ground and the atmospheric streets surrounding Brixton Market are also included, capturing layers of change through time.

Each map is crafted exclusively for you, allowing extensive personalisation. Choose to centre the map on your home, a landmark, or any address that holds meaning. Mark up to five locations that matter most—perhaps the spot you first lived, a beloved pub, or a favourite meeting place. Add a special dedication, tailor the map’s title and subtitle, or include an inside joke for a truly personal touch. Every map is designed by hand, so your creative ideas can be fully realised.

Produced to the highest standards, your map is printed using the giclée process onto museum-quality archival paper or thick artist’s cotton canvas, ensuring exceptional detail and long-lasting vibrancy. Select from a variety of elegant framing options, including FSC-certified wood frames with crystal-clear acrylite glazing, or opt for a gallery-style float-framed canvas. Each piece arrives ready to hang and makes a striking centrepiece in any room.

These maps are based on original Ordnance Survey sheets produced between the 1870s and 1960s, iconic for their blend of artistry and precision. The OS surveyed and drew these maps by hand, recording every street, railway, and green space with extraordinary accuracy. The resulting maps are admired for their meticulous detail, attractive typographic style, and ability to evoke the character of their era. With your personalised Lambeth map, you don’t just own a piece of history—you bring it to life in a format designed just for you.

Please note you are purchasing a fully customised old map. Modern landmarks, such as your house, may not have been built yet! You can contact me to check if a certain location, landmark or feature is shown on this map.

Generally, larger maps look much better than smaller maps, because you can enjoy all of the smaller details. If you need a smaller map, I would suggest ‘zooming in’ so that the map covers a smaller area.

Because these maps are custom made to order, we can make you a map that looks great at at any size, from very small (8x10in/20x25cm) all the way to a few metres. If you are looking for a very large map, please get in touch.

The model in the listing images is holding the 18x24in (45x60cm) version of this map.

Every map can be personalised or customised, for example if you want to mark your house or street on the map. The fifth listing image shows an example of my map personalisation service.

This personalised map would make a wonderful housewarming, birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, Mother’s Day, wedding anniversary or work leaving gift for someone from Borough of Lambeth, or someone who works there.

This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or on artist’s cotton canvas. Several frame choices are available for free, or custom framing is available for an additional fee. Please get in touch if you’re looking to order a very large map for a hotel or office, or if you’re looking for a size that isn’t available on my shop.
