Snow at Kiyosumi Park by Hasui Kawase is a serene Japanese woodblock print, originally titled "Kiyosumi-en no Yuki" (清澄園の雪), crafted in 1935. Hasui Kawase is celebrated as one of the great masters of the shin-hanga ("new prints") movement, whose evocative landscapes captured the poetic charm of early 20th-century Japan. In this enchanting scene, fresh snowfall blankets the grounds and trees of Kiyosumi Park in Tokyo, transporting viewers into a tranquil winter moment, rendered with Kawase’s signature sensitivity to mood and atmosphere.

The Unique Maps Co. presents a premium fine art print of this Hasui Kawase masterpiece, available on either acid-free archival paper or luxurious artist's cotton canvas. This reproduction is offered in multiple sizes to suit any setting and can be tailored to your personal taste with a range of elegant framing, matting, and personalization options, ensuring a beautiful fit for your home or office.

Hasui Kawase (1883–1957) was a prolific and revered Japanese printmaker who transformed the art world with his deeply lyrical interpretations of regional landscapes and urban scenes. Regarded as a bridge between tradition and modernity, Kawase elevated woodblock printmaking to new heights of artistic expression, earning acclaim both in Japan and internationally. His delicate technical skill and imaginative compositions continue to influence artists and captivate collectors.

Snow at Kiyosumi Park is notable for its exquisite portrayal of winter’s quiet majesty. Kawase expertly conveys the hush of snowfall and the solitude of the park, inviting the viewer to appreciate the unspoiled beauty of nature in repose. The careful rendering of snow-laden branches, the gently arching wooden bridge, and the subtle gradation of distant trees underlines his masterful ability to communicate both detail and mood.

The print features a harmonious palette dominated by pure whites, soft blues, and warm browns. Kawase’s use of color is integral to the sense of depth and tranquility in the scene, illuminating the landscape with a diffuse, peaceful light. His masterful contrasts—between the crisp white snow, the muted sky, and the rich earthy tones of the bridge and trunks—make this artwork a standout piece for anyone seeking an atmosphere of calm and reflection in their space.

This print makes a thoughtful and refined gift for holidays such as Christmas, Mother’s Day, or Father’s Day, as well as for housewarmings and special occasions. Its serene beauty will evoke a sense of peaceful retreat, making it a cherished addition to any art lover’s collection.
